The Reputation Ceiling: Are YOU Your Brands' Biggest Problem?
with
Peter Firestein, Author
President & CEO, Global Strategic Communications Inc.
October 12, 2011 8:00- 9:30 am
Higher visibility of corporate conduct is leading consumers to see more of their daily purchase decisions as moral choices. In fact, they are beginning to judge companies much like they judge politicians: by their values.
Products are therefore no longer just products. They carry with them the reputation of the companies who offer them, and can live or die as a result. In this presentation, we’ll explore how some companies are rapidly adjusting – and others are learning the hard way – as the public begins to make more purchase decisions not only as customers, but also as citizens.
Join us for a breakfast discussion of the top trends related to Reputation Management. Look forward to taking away valuable marketing-related insights.
The author will touch on reputation related events most recently experienced by companies like Coca-Cola, Toyota, BP, Wal-Mart, Merck and others.

About Peter Firestein:
Peter Firestein provides counsel to senior corporate management worldwide, helping them recognize and respond to reputation risks and crises. In his book, “CRISIS OF CHARACTER – Building Corporate Reputation in the Age of Skepticism,” he takes the position that communication with stakeholders is critical, but it seldom provides the full answer to reputation challenges. Communication must be informed by a candid management analysis of the ways its practices and underlying assumptions affect stakeholders. He supports clients by helping them through this process.
Peter is President and CEO of the New York consultancy Global Strategic, Inc. His writing and invited commentary on corporate crisis and reputation have appeared in the print or web editions of the New York Times, Time Magazine, CEO Magazine, CNBC.com, MSNBC.com, the Conference Board Review, the Journal of the American Management Association, in his columns for Bloomberg BusinessWeek, and many other publications. Peter has been a frequent commentator on corporate crisis and reputation for Bloomberg TV, the BBC World Service, NPR, and other media outlets. He is originator of the Socratic Dialogue on Corporate Risk and of the Open Perception Study™.
